Kyle's First Hospital Stay

Kyle had exploratory surgery in February. The surgery went well, he was able to come home the same afternoon. They found a defect in the tiny hairs in his bronchial tubes. We are still waiting for test results before we know anything for sure. But he was a champ through it all. THEN the next morning he woke up unable to take a full breath. We were in a panic, we could see his ribs every time he tried to take a breath (and as you can see, that is saying a lot for our little tubby boy!). We rushed him to the hospital and they got him breathing better pretty quickly. But he kept going back to being unable to catch his breath. After a LONG day in the ER they moved us upstairs to the Pedi ward and we stayed overnight. It was being caused by swelling in his airways from the surgery the day before. He never fussed about it, stayed pretty happy the entire time. I think it was WAY harder on us than on him. After the hospital stay he caught a nasty virus, then a really bad ear infection. Poor thing couldn't catch a break. But he is back up and running 110% now! Here are some pics of our little man in his cute little hospital gown!
